Ever since she was able to hold tools, Katie Sue Blevins has been creating art. Growing up in southern California, the tool was often a stick to draw in the sandy beaches near her home. Her mother, a painter, inspired her to create with whatever was at hand.
Katie is self-taught, and considers herself somewhat of an "outsider" artist. She has a deep and personal appreciation for the beauty that can be found in nature, and this beauty often serves as the foundation for her work. For the last thirty-six years, Katie has made a living as an artist in the garment and textile industry and an illustrator for clients throughout the South. Currently enjoying her time at home crafting beautiful pieces of artwork, Katie shares her life with her wonderful husband, Joel, and her two sons.
